Overhead or big reel?

I am considering a new combo to fight the bigger species for boat fishing and looking for advice. Can not really decide whether to go for:
- an overhead or a big reel combo;
- braid or mono;
- line rating?
I will use the combo for setting out unweighted bait and have a lighter combo for bottom bouncing.
Also interested in what would be a good buy around the 200 dollar mark. Any advice appreciated!

TLD
you might be able to kill two birds with one stone here. If you havent got a trolling combo or 2 then you could pick up a TLD 20/25 with a rod and line for under $200 will also work for your big bait out the back or a floater, the ratchet will come in handy to alert you to bites while your fishing your other rod.
So if your gona troll with it also I would look at mono I have 50lb on mine its just about unbreakable have caught some big tiger sharks on it. The benefit of the heavier line is some of my deckies havent done alot of fishing so although 50lb is overkill for most fish we target ie macks and local but tuna it gives them a bit more margin for error when striking and it doesnt cost me a rapala
most people bottom bouncing around perth tend to use 50lb

Finn
I've got a finn overhead combo with platypus 37kg pretest and that hasn't missed a beat with GT's, tigers/bronzies and whatever else is floating around the Pilbara. It isn't the smoothest reel around but it works and was about $149 from memory
