Hi
Looking at purchasing a 2004 Quintrex Coast runner C.V
Millennium hull
Just wanted some thoughts on this boat!
Also the motor is a 70hp Johnson 4 stroke with 334hrs
Is this alot of hours?
Some people are saying thats to many hours, but I thought that's not bad for the age of the motor? Plus it's got good service history?
Any thoughts?
Cheers!

I wouldn’t be concerned
about the hours at all, boats had what a bit over 20 hours per year.
They are a good reliable hull and a good starting point.
Reverse cycle a/c supply and install - Ducted and wall splits

Buy it do the sums, 334
Buy it do the sums, 334 divided by 14 = 26hrs. I'd be moreworried about any sinkers or foreign objects
falling thru onto the floor and causing pitting in the hull.

I have 540 Coastrunner and
I have 540 Coastrunner and also a Bayhunter 475 with the millenium hull. They are both ripper boats in mmy opinion and handle the sea very well. If serviced well and a reasonable price you can't go wrong.

quintrex 4.75.
Good stable hull thats easy to handle and cheap to run with a 70 johno/suzi 4st.
As for the hours on the motor itscoming up for its 5th oil change @ 400hrs and may have 1600 +hrs more trouble free.
The last suzi 4st I purchased had 864 hrs on it and i have put 800 hrs on in 4 yrs and it purrs like a kitten.
Prior to that I had a johno/suzi 140 2006 that had some corrosion issues, but the motor still ran like a dream @1950 hrs when i sold the boat.
Early johno/suzi 4 st can have problems in the different hp ranges. get on The Hull Truth and see what issues are showing up now .
Goodluck with your purchase .

Top boat. It all depends on
Top boat. It all depends on condition. You have to look at boat, motor and trailer seperately. There is a huge difference in prices depending on condition. If you are truly keen get it checked out by an independent marine mechanic. Low hours outboards may sound good but may be a nightmare. You lose confidence in motors quickly if they dont run sweetly and then your looking at around 12000 for a new motor.

Great boats
I had a 480 Coastrunner and loved it, 20 mile off shore on a good day and cheap to run, mine had a 60 hp Yammy and I sold it with 1,000 hours. Never had a drama with it, just keep up with with the usual servicing. Check up under the dash for cracked welds. They hold their value as well which is a bonus when it comes to upgrade.
