Will be hitting the crays again this year, hoping to have some time off at the end of Nov.
How many others will be chasing the crays.

I used to dive for crays
I used to dive for crays back home in Vic and also SA but gave it up when I moved over to Perth nearly 3 years ago. A good decision in hindsight. I love crays as much as the next bloke, but there's no way I'd risk my life for them.

for sure
I Will be out there freediving for them before work in the mornings when swell and wind allow me too...mainly in close tho!! speaking to Spearo's n Divers down this way a fair few are concerned , but will still get in the water , recon the tip off the cape near the seal colony might be left alone tho.

Yep
Ill still be goin, but 1 or 2 of the regulars are a bit hesitant. The concern usually washes away the second you hit the water, but I don't think you'll catch me diving without my good friend rob allen....

I'm definitely gonna be out
I'm definitely gonna be out there, once a week all season if I can. Have a few weeks left to scout some new ground out the back of garden island before season kick off to add to the growing list of GPS spots.

cray season pots reports
has anyone seen any predictions from fisheries about what sort of season they are predicting for crays like what happened to all the crays last year what about the count from the larval monitors they have floating around.

Not diving after last year
One visit was more than enough for me - still trying to clean the wetsuit and slow the pulse

I'll be trying out the bee
I'll be trying out the bee hive craypots this season, never used them before so interested to see how they go. Got 30 from 2 pots last year from the 15th of Nov till about the 20th Dec so hopefully get a few for chrissie! Don't suppose fisheries would let me get my 5 year old a licence so I could run a couple more pots? He's waking up early enough at the moment
don't know how he'd go pulling his own pots though.

I think there will
be more pots this year than divers.
I might need some deckies/dive buddies this year. I plan to do a few deeper dives this year, 30m - 40m and see what ground I am fishing on and send down the Go Pro
any volunteers ?
