 why not. if you can still put the boat in the water and enjoy it , go for it. 

hope i can still fish at that age, more to the point , hope there is still fish around . 30 years to go

 there’s this elderly couple that regularly launch midweek from hillarys, they have an old voyager centre console and head over to rotto scuba diving, spear fishing and catching cray, they are in their mid 70’s I’d say and have some good yarns to tell back at the ramp I commented to my mate the other day I hope I’m still capable at their age. It’s great to see.

 Keep going, There's a fellow up my way who's the same age as you. He and his deckie who's 70 still beach launch (we give them a bit of a hand) and fish all day, still pull their own cray pots. I was chatting to him the other week and he said he'd probably have to give up in the next couple of years, I said Clarry never think like that just do it until you can't then give it up. Age is not a reason. Keep going mate, I'll certainly push the limits if I get to your age. 

 You never know how many you will have remaining--at 65, certainly hope I can enjoy it out there for another 15. Or i wouldn't be outlaying all this money on a new boat right now.

 It's probably the fishing lifestyle that has that has given you the longevity that you have. An enjoyable and relaxing day on the water and eating fresh quality seafood , that's what keeps you of healthy mind and body. Keep it up mate !

 I’m getting there, sometimes I just don’t put in the dinghy if nobody else is about.

 my farther is turning 82 in August & he still does Solo runs out from Mandurah in his Carrabien Reef runner, which is kept on one of those pontoon things in front of his house on the canals. Gets his bag limit of whiting & the odd Dhu.

 My grandfather bought a boat in his eighties!  Just found someone to take him fishing.  I hope i can still handle my boat well into my seventies.  May need an anchor winch and self locking trailer hitch thingie.

 My old man is 72 and still uses his 4.55 Stacer all the time for squid and whiting down here in Espy. He always beach launches solo from the town beach/yacht club and always comes home with a feed, often bagging out.

Age doesn't matter, physical  fitness does, I'll be 71 on ANZAC Day and hopefully there's a lot more years in me, been going to Exmouth for the last 11 years and looking forward to another trip on the 20th April, a full day on the water slows me down but the young blokes I fish with play a bit hard in the evenings for me so I have a scotch or two and head to bed. The young blokes are in their late thirties and early forties and give me heaps but what the hell aye.

 back in the day , me and my mates used to dive onslow at least 4 times a year (we all lived in K town) , back then there was on old pommy bloke "bill" living at the onslow caravan park  we would take him  out for a few   dives when we were there  , he was always keen for a dive  , at 83 years old he was still getting 15 meters and shooting big coral trout

 I am 70. Still launch my 24 foot boat regularly with my 78 year old deckie ( he is as tough as. If I told him to meet me at 2:00am at Jurien, he would be there) good on ya Pete. My 50 YO fishing mate regularly takes naps in the cabin. Motto is GO HARD

 Good to read all the above comments with the older guys that are still getting out and amongst it. Hopefully I’m going well enough to be doing the same one day

My 87y old pop gave his Finns Spindrift dinghy to my cousin about 3 years ago but up untill that stage he was lifting it (55kg) onto his roof racks and launching it solo down Augusta until the silly bugger tried to stop it falling off the roof and tore his shoulder.

55 Year old mate visitted Machu Pichu a month back and complained about the 1080 steps? up the mountain saying they were bloody hard work, when I told him my mother and elder sister did them 2 years ago and mum was 92 at the time he stopped bitching.

I have got a couple of years to go till I reach 70 and have no intention of selling our boat or giving up being a skipper for sea rescue in the near future

 Hey Guy's and Gal's, Good Old Ozzy here turnin 69 This year, and can stil lgive most of the Young Crew a run for their Money as to Finding and Catching a few Quality Fish 

Good to hear all you older blokes still out doing what you love.

At 52 I still fish at least once a week and more often than not it is a beach launch or in my hobie kayak chasing dhuies and snapper.

My dad is 70 and just starting to slow down and going through one of those stages where he has lost a little bit of interest in fishing but still loves to go crabbing.

 Congrats to all the fellow oldies, I love my boat, and take it out whenever I can, the only thing when you get to my age, doctors appointments sometimes get in the way, I am lucky as my wife also loves coming out with me, we have been fishing together since she was 19, and now she is 75, thanks for all the comments.
