Took the new tinnie down for the first time to see if I had any leaks after the make over.
Turned around & came home a little dejected. wasn't going to risk a ticket by parking out on the road verge as I saw the ranger hanging around.
Will try tomorrow but this time the missus says she will drop us off to launch & come get us when we return, a much betta idea I think.
Hope all went well today & not a co$tly outing for anyone, & all were safe.
Cheers & Stay safe

why fine if there is no available parking
seems a bit rich for the ranger to fining people when they do not have enough parkng bays...
Insignificant Small minded piss ants if they are......
Perhaps we write the shire...phone them and then all tow our boats to the shire offices to say hi.

So you are above the law then.
Don't blame or belittle the rangers. They are doing their job.

The CoJ should be proactive
The CoJ should be proactive and implement some overflow parking during these peak times

Whats the capacity now. It
Whats the capacity now.
It will never be big enough. If they do an overflow and that too gets full then you will be back here.screaming not enough parking. So its a.loss loss isn't it.
The overflow will only be suitable for a handful of times a year. The rest of the time is sitting there doing nothing. Then again the rest of the time it could be left solely for you exclusive use.

agree with others
agree with others here.
Especially if you have a yearly pass and its not a nuisance/hazard.
Or else limit the number of yearly passes, or even cheaper "off peak passes".

I have just had a similiar argument with transperth regarding a fine i got for parking on tbe keeb at the furthest spot away from the train station entrance when the car park was full.
I lost the argument.

Bit rich Mr. Yoni! If you
Bit rich Mr. Yoni! If you like me have paid for a yearly parking permit then one should be able to park safely on grass verges etc. at or nearby the marina!
Every one who paid for a ticket, displayed it and parked as close as possible and safely should NOT be fines esp. on Christmas!

So paying for parking gives you the right to park anywhere you like? Despite that one cannot read a sign.
I think that is a bit rich.

So if then parking on the verge as he said get one a parking ticket and there are no signs then yes he has a case. But i would be certain that would not be the case as there would be signs indicating no verge parking or similar. Again they deserve a fine because they did not read the sign.

Mandurah trailer parking a premium
Mandurah was chockers with cars and trailers by 10 this morning and parking was at a premium. It's at times like this that you really see just how many house holds have a boat.
The estuary was just a mass of white poly floats if there are any crabs in the estuary that haven't been caught at least 3 times measured, (and hope full released when found to be under sized) it would be rare indeed.
I haven't heard of any incidents on the radio so hopefully everyone has had a safe days outing.
To see some of the size craft on the estuary is mind boggling, they would be lucky to have 5mm of water under their keel.

Thanks for the report mate.
Thanks for the report mate. That answers my thoughts on whether I hit up the Swan or the Peel tomorrow although the boat ramp I use in Mandurah is hardly ever full

Early at Mindarie, no wait.
Early at Mindarie, no wait. Back out at 1 pm after getting a nice feed, waited well over an hour. Most were well behaved except the peanuts that drove around 30 waiting boats, dropped off the driver, backed the trailer down in front of everyone else and skipped the entire line. A few old boys the worst.

Wasn't a wait at all when I went out of dawesville this morning. Starting to agree that having a pen for the peak periods is a great idea.

So
If you feel like going out in the boat tomorrow Mr Yoni and you get to the ramp and there's no parking left for boat trailers you just go home and try again another day ? Maby Wednesday when it's blowing 20 knots there will be plenty of parking . Pfft it's up to the local orthorities to cater for the public to be able to park there cars and trailers it's not our fault or nor should we miss out on a day out due to lack of available parking .

I was waiting at the de-rig and washdown area for quite a while at ocean reef when one bloke got out his bucket and soft brush and gave his boat the full on soap and scrub. I thought he was going to go the full wax and polish while i waited.
Really?

My two bobs worth, few years
My two bobs worth, few years ago went to a popular swan river ramp, cars everywhere and jammed into "trailer parking" only bays. Vehicles with trailers had nowhere to park some parked in car only bays, some on verges, had a look around and noted that vehicle/trailer combinations parked in car only bays had parking tickets issued, BUT cars in trailer only bays had no tickets. Rang rangers and asked what the deal was and why was not the cars in trailer only bays booked, the answer was it would cause to much backlash! I said what about trailers where do we park and what are you going to about cars illegally parked in trailer only bays, you guessed it basically nothing!

Went to Hillarys for brekky a couple of weeks ago and parked in the free parking near the ramp carpark. There were 2 rangers fining every car that had parked in the car trailer bays without a trailer and there were plenty! Great to see

Ocean Reef was pretty good
Ocean Reef was pretty good today. No mayhem
Didnt catch much though. Couple of KGs, 10 or so sand whiting, 3 flatties.
Also caught a few undersized pinkies. All went back, to grow.
We were fishing in about 25m of depth

I pay taxes and endless fees
I pay taxes and endless fees to catch a feed when im not working, to have the council not provide enough parking to accomadate peak times and then issue fines is a punch in the guts. Its not like the shopping centre where you can drive around till someone leaves.
Pt peron seems ok ranger wise, cars parked out on the main road last two days!

Wonder what would happen
if you found yourself in that situation and you pulled off your license plates and then put them back on upon your return. Didn't drive without plates could not be fined because council knows not who you are

Went down to Matilda Bay
Went down to Matilda Bay today with my 3y old to chase some crabs and the carpark was absolutely chockers. Saw someone pull their boat out and another boat waiting so I move forward and let him get his trailer down and he spends the next 10 minutes getting the thing out of the water with the help of another 4 able bodied adults. As he's getting out, another boat pulls in and works his way up to the front of the ramp and old mate that I let in has now parked behind me to finished derigging his boat so I can't reverse down the ramp to force the guy who's just come in back. The other ramp also had [peopel trying to launch and retrive on the same jetty so I just got out tied my rope up gave old mate a gobful and got outa there and sipped a beer while the little fella played on some swings nearby.
They seriously need to implement launch and retrieve lanes there as it's mayhem otherwise.
