Nice weather for (someone else's) opening day of the cray season.

So what do you do when the cray season opens and you're copping 20 knot winds and 6 foot seas? Well option one is stay at home, but here is how the other option looks if you have a 25 foot Imemsa Mexican Panga powered by 65 HP Tiller commercial ETEC.

I think the guy was talking up the wind and waves, but its a pretty decent ride despite the conditions in any case.

Can't really beat waterline length!

I wonder how many other 25' boats run ok with a 65hp on em as well ;)

Long boats

Thu, 2011-08-04 21:04

The water may not look that big, but its very messy. Bit like a washing machine .

I always liked long boats but got talked out of buying one, they do seem to handle very well and usualy require a small motor for their size.

After watching it again, I'd

After watching it again, I'd rate the 6' on the swell, and its certainly messy but its barely whitecapping so that means its not really over 15kn wind-wise.

Always a bit suprising that yamaha killed off the southwinds, and more surprising again no one ever really filled the niche.

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.
