Newbie on board

Hi everyone. I'm new here. LOVE fishing. But only been into it or 6 months. I have a 5.2m savage craft with a mercury 115 2 stroke with 90L fuel.
I launch from Hillary's. What depth should I look for along 3mile? I want to hit sambos king fish etc or just what ever else I can grab. Mostly into catch and release but will keep 2 fish per session.
I have a lot of luck with good sized skippy in the 40cm plus range normally. But me and the missus are getting over it.
I understand the demersal fishing ban is in place. But what sport and/or table fish are readily accessible not too far out?
I understand people don't want to share coordinates. But a general guide would be great.
Thanks for your help in advance. And happy fishing!!!!

Whiting are a lovely fish for light gear and close in. larger ones filleted and done in a beer batter, Mmmm! I've caught them off Scarborough Beach and I believe they are plentiful around Cottesloe. if i wasn't replacing trailer springs I'd be out there this weekend trying to get a feed!
Fish! HARD!

I must say I've had a couple
I must say I've had a couple of king George from around Hillary's weed patches. They are delicious. I love my flathead too.
I also really want some squid. I'm assuming around the weed patches near the marina will be good.
Thanks.

Welcome
Welcome Justo, During the ban i target sand whitting mostly, ( as table fish ). While chasing them i often catch big flathead and flounder, great way to get a feed and have fun on the light gear .
Cheers Grant..

if you're into skippy while
if you're into skippy while anchored and burleying , your not far off.
i chuck a smaller skippy out live under a balloon , whilst fishing bottom and a free lined bait , cover all bases.
it's amazing the variety of species you can get up the trail.
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

Agree with Graham, if you
Agree with Graham, if you are getting skips, chuck a hook in one when you release it, you may be very surprised!!

Went out today. Tried some
Went out today. Tried some broken ground out past 3 mile. Mostly wrasse, but got a decent nor west Blowie (good fun), little flathead, some good sized sand whiting, and a skippy. Got dinner sorted.
Hopefully will hit it Sunday too.
Thanks for the pointers everyone.
