Myalup Area Beach Fishing
Submitted by Jackfrost80 on Wed, 2017-08-23 07:55
Heading down to Myalup on the weekend for my boy's Karate camp and it would be remiss of me not to pack a rod for a cheeky flick. I'm just going to head down with some poppers and richter plugs and have a flick so can anyone point me in the right direction? I don't a 4WD.
I seem to remember from when we used to stay there as kids that Myalup is pretty beachy so is it worth heading a little bit further south to Binningup?
Cheers JF

Have had good success
Have had good success throwing lures for tailor north of Myalup (4WDing up a few kms, though walking and spotting reef a goer too). Success mainly on twisties as low as I can get them without losing to reef. Unfortunately I don't head there outside of summer and I know the beach gets weeded out a lot so hopefully someone local can give you an update. Binningup has lots of reef but from memory as a kid it was shallower near town but could be wrong. For holidays we used to drive from binningup to Myalup to clean up on whiting every day during summer but we did sometimes tailor fish north or south of binningup town.
