Mussels

Hiya All,

 

Any suggestions where you can get some mussels around the Perth metro area (and not from a shop!!)

clean and fairly user friendly to get to, any suggestions would be appreciated

Have plenty - best if you free dive a little deeper down the chains and pick off the larger ones rather than raking and taking many little ones

 About taking mussels from metal (Chains) as I have been lead to believe this can be toxic,evidently the Mussels ,as filter feeders ,pick up the metal minerals due to rusting excetera and this can build up,far safer to take them from Wooden pillons,I am not sure about concret either.some one here may know but just check .diver

 Everywhere around the Cockburn power Boat association there is tones of them. Concrete jetty,off the rocks, any rope etc they are everyewhere!!!! Saw a guy getting them off the concrete jetty last week not sure if its ok to eat them if they are on the concrete?
