Mullaloo Beach

 HI all,

I don't get to fish in Perth very much so am wondering if Mullaloo beach is a chance for Tailor and Whiting/anything else edible.

 Best way would be to get down there with a variety of rigs and give it a bash. You can find whiting along most beaches. If there is gutters you could get bream or even the odd mulaway

Hands down the best Metro beach in Perth for swimming, relaxing and generally just enjoying the water but fishing wise not the greatest.

Try Ocean Reef and North of that...

Trigg beach has been pretty

Trigg beach has been pretty good for me over the years.

 

Haven’t fished there for a few years, but some good fish can be caught once you suss out the tides, spots and bait.

 

Catch good sized yellow eyed mullet (pilch) in the blue hole (where surfers enter/exit) and when casting a float on top of main reef that the blue hole runs along. From memory, the pitch show up around June/July.

 

Theres big tarwine in the blue hole and in the reef holes on the northern side of the same reef (i.e. side that people take their kids). It is shallow, so either use a float or cast with minimal weight and dont wind until you get a bight. You’ll know when they grab it.  Best after sun goes down. 

 

This time of year, a good chance for a salmon in the blue hole. Some stonker yellow fin whiting in summer in surprisingly shallow water.

 

Ive found not using burley is key, given the number of blowies!
