Everything!

I bought my first 20g jig and started catchin slimies on it, then bought a designated setup to target ideal live baits like slimies and skippy. Dared to drop these jigs on big fish and havent looked back.
5-6kg salmon, rat sambos and I often find myself droppin these lil jigs for demersals and have landed black arse, a nice baldy, and dhus up to 7kg, now my 5yo is gettin into the action, so much fun.
I classify micro as up to 30g, any heavier and I would struggle to get the right action with the rod. 20g is my fav weight for all depths up to 30 odd meter. The 7kega was on a 30g in 42m. These fush are totally achievable on UL gear, there is a lot less protest from a fish (if they even know theyre hooked) when u go easy on them and you are forced to go easy because the gear is UL. Hook penetration is your only downfall on some fish with hard mouths.
Good luck, I love micro jiggin!

Anywhere

Seen ur profile and guess u get access to boat fishing. Basically if theres fish on the sounder, its a high chance you will get hit, even wrasse smackem. Drop on bait schools, any show on the sounder, just be prepared to get blitzed if you drop on the 'long blobs' (sambos). I avoid any gnarly bottom if droppin for demersals. Stay on top of the fish, stay on top of the jig and stay on top of the fight if you hook a biggun, in other words, no drifting, its easy done on any boat

Maybe to start burley up some skippy o similar on the back of FFb or 3 mile. There is an episode of The Water on YouTube where they use micro twisties around the 3 mile reef

Mate if your going to try

Mate if your going to try micro jigging to catch bait for bigger fish why not get some bigger jigs aswell (if you have a suitable rod/reel) and try fishing without bait all together. Learn the correct techniques with micro jigs and then just apply the same with the larger demersal jigs.

Slimies lovem!

They smashem hard! If you see shows like this, good chance to jig up bait.

Even caught squid on them, amd they follow the jigs up, always have a handline rigged with a squid jig ready for the switch

I am with Tim-o. When you

I am with Tim-o. When you downsize your jig, it's a lucky dip. You'll catch anything.

I was at FFB last week and snared multiple wrasses, a black-arse, dhuey and harlequine drifting the boat across to cover ground.

Just like any other fishing, hook has to be really sharp because you are using UL tackle so sharper hook assists with penetration.

Take note that your solid, assist cord & assist hook length should ideally not more than 1/2 the length of your jig to reduce the chances of snagging up.

Avoid using snaps because they do come undone mysteriously - I landed a black bum & a dhuey respectively but the jigs went missing and the snaps were still closed! I was using Mustad Fastach clips.....

Use FC leader anything from 10-20lb in case a fish with abrasive mouth swallowed the jig, at least you have a chance landing it.

Last but not least, get at least half a dozen of micro jigs ready because you'll tend to lose some the very first time until you get the hang of it.

Enjoy. =)
