Mandurah fishing offshore

Hello all

this was a discussion 8 years back I have seen in the site.

But I’m in the same situation. Moved down from up north and now running out of the cut, hitting spots out 35 m , behind the five and all over.

managed 1 x due but not much else.

any clues as to moon phase or tides for these fish is it any time of day or dawn and dusk better?

anchor and burley, or drift?

any information appreciated

we have never worried about tides and moon phases , just gotta study the maps and get out there for a look see.plenty of ground out there just watch your sounder as your moving about as some of the lumps that are only small hold some good fish.  we have been fishing out of mandurah a bit over 12 months and have done reasonably well. there has been trips out with no rewards but we keep on going

I am a moonie and a tidey , and a solunar convert,  if thats a thing? ( its amazing I go fishing at all , waiting for perfection)

Below about  say 60 m I think it def can make a big difference with some of our best coming on or near high tides , on top solunar days, and some of

our biggest busts on those zero fish solunar days after the full moon .

60 m plus we seem to have caught reasonable fish on pooorer days , but i still look to the pre mentioned factors to keep the chin up and give me hope.

Being a old time shore fisher , I was always a tidey , but since taking solunar and moons into my fishing , I know I have done better.

 Bring it on .

We go fishing and if we get fish its a bonus. Better than being stuck doing the gardening.

Never realy followed the tides an moon so wouldnt even know where to start

Yeah , I do too , even if mars isnt lined up to venus , and the odd time I catch fish , and sometimes my best ever days with good mates and family with amazing

places and weather dont include fish.

If it isnt fun or enjoyable then why do it.

Now wheres my tide chart ?.

But I know what Russ is saying

Any day on the water is a good day BUT I love full moons and agree tidal movement is a critical factor to really good fishing. I now log into Tides4fishing and have found it very accurate both bite times and just how good it will be, sure have had exceptions but that’s fishing

Yep I find the moons and tides defo play a part fishing less than 50m. Barnes try 6-9 mile south from the cut 27-30m. Check your charts
