Try the markers
Hey Stewie
Give the channel markers a try. I always forget the number, but its the only tri-pod marker out there...24 i think. Someone will correct me no doubt. I usualy fish the town jetty for smaller trevs and queenies. I use 8lb braid and soft plastics..heaps of fun on light gear. Ask Yewiefish, he knows more about it. Good luck and I may see you on the jetty perhaps?

24's not there Sean66, 36 and newman front and rear are the only tri leg channel markers out there but all are worth having a crack at, mainly queenies, brassey trevally, some gold spots and occasional cobia, i fish the markers with 14lb and very rarely get stitched up, if you want any more info pm me and i will try to help.

Mate if you want some trevs
Mate if you want some trevs give me a yell when you get to Samson. Big strong buggers hang around some of the markers out from the wharf here as well. Swear my arms are about 20cm longer since i started fishing these areas.
Normally I,m on fairly hefty bottom fishing gear for trout bluebone etc but when one of these things come along they can wear you out pretty quick.

Stewie, depending on the
Stewie, depending on the weather and if you are up for a bit of a trek you can always head down to off the first large cape west of town. Launching from Finucane Island ramp it would be over 25km's to get down there. It's the start of what is called Geograph shoals and they can be very productive. Have a look on your charts, you will see the area that I am talking about.
