last night fish

whent for a little fish last night round midnight ended up with a little tailor 25 cm and a cobbler 40cm+ i was just wandering if you are aloud to keep cobbler you catch and are they good eaten if so wat is the legal size and i thought they were really rare to catch on hook is that tru or not, and another question where is the best place to fish around perth freo at the moment anywhere that is bus or train access

Illegal in the swan river but everywhere else is fair game. Check web for sizes as unsure without a fish ruler in frount of me. Good eating.

Hi Mate,

Cobbler caught in the swan river are protected ( someone please correct me if i'm wrong) . Cobbler caught in the sound are ok to take. I took one home once and i must say there are a muddy fish. Similar to carp. So it really depence on your taste I would say you love  it or hate it. Sorry but I cant help on the second part of your question.

Good eating, maybe you had a bad one Alfred. I used to catch heaps down around Dunsborough.
43cm is the size limit and there is a knack to skinning them

Yep protected in the swan not anywhere else. If I ever buy fish and chips which is rare I always order cobbler its beaUtifull but not sure where they are caught from I guess river cobbler would taste a little muddy
