Landbased, headsup.

Went down to hillaries south rock wall on saturday night around 6pm. Started off throwing some metals around then ran out of puff and baitcasted some mulies around. Still no success i opted for a standard dropper loop bottom rig with a couple of lumo beads attached for good measure. First cast out and i hit the jackpot! 58cm tailor that even pealed the 15 pound line from the reel! Stoked with that the second cast got smashed as well. This time 59.5cm! A PB by half a cm. Happy as larry it went quiet not long after but i had more than enough for a feed and went home smiling with my best tailor south of Yanchep. Get down there if your willing to get into them, was a bit windy and choppy but thats what gets em in. Also got a port jackson that measured in at 19.5cm! Little bugger took a 5/0 but was released to fight another day.

Gonna have to start taking your camera with you mate. A 60cm metro tailor is well worthy of a photo, not to mention two of them! Rumours are about that theres sharks all over the place at the moment, well worthy of having a big line out.

Got photos on my phone, they turned out sweet but when i send them to my email there really dark and you cant see shit. Will figure it out and get them up asap. Plus the photos make the fish look small so i took them on a measuring sticker so you can see the length of these babies. The size frecked me out as well! Only get them like that when up at yanchep or above. Will try and post them in a minute.

Keep it tight, reeeeeeel tight!

Once they're up I will see if I can't do some photoshop work on them and brighten them up, see how they look first.

woh thats pretty good size, bet you were stoked.. hope to see some photos. I read a report somewhere that said a big school of shark mackerel swam past hillaries a few weeks ago and almost everyone with a mulie in the water hooked up simultaneously. apparantly only one was landed and the rest busted off.

Nice work spess. 60cm's round perth is top work. Heard of a 3 ft tailor caught at the jetty here at busso a couple of weeks ago. Right after a 2m hammer on a squid jig!

You should buy the cord for the phone to comp. Makes it a hell of a lot easier to deal with.

Gotta be happy with a catch like that from the metro. Can't wait to see the pics.
Hey Adam where are these sharks supposed to be? North or south?
Cheers Danny.

No tailor caught last night

Wed, 2007-02-28 06:22

No tailor caught last night from the south wall, but families around me were having a great time catching yellow tail and a port jackson shark.

Great spot to catch some bait if your heading up north for easter...
