FW Crew,
I hope this finds you well....
It is the time of the year where the wind blows its arse off and the boat remains dry, I thought I'd head for the stones for some ballooning etc etc....
I want a threadline reel and rod to suit, something that can handle a Kingy or Sambo....
I've git what used to be regarded as the best you can get in a Sabre 670 but thats 7ft and over head.....
I want to be able to cast placs etc.....
I'm not interested in the top of the wazza gear, something good value that will do the job....
Cheers legends

Penn prevail and slammer reel
Personally love the new Penn Slammer range and the prevails rods have lasted for me. Should get a good mix for $600 odd bucks

As silly as it sounds , go to
As silly as it sounds , go to k mart and get yourself a beach combo. Just upgrade the reel. I got one 3 years back and the rid itself has held up to many big fish like 25 kg gt and loads of trevs over 10 kg not to mention shovel nose sharks. The reel can be used as a bait catcher . Only cost me $70
