For instance there's some very big whiting cruising them shallows, extremely hard to tempt unfortunately. Herring and tailor would be your mainstay. Get quite a few garfish in the mornings but like the whiting can very fussy. As for larger fish I can count on one hand the number I've seen caught there over the years, very rare and usually in the worst of weather (talking species like snapper, mulloway). That said I had a lovely little 10kg model swim up to a squid jig there once, about 3 or 4 years back!
Have seen the odd shark taken there but again its not that common. Rays are a problem there and are certain to hit a setbait on the bottom without fail. And find your crabnets. Can be worth a look when the crabs are running, check the pylons with a crab scoop between pulls on your nets, might be surprised.
All in all though not one of the better spots in The Sound.
