King George off Mandurah

Hi guys now that the demersal closure is on I am keen to target King George. As i am in Mandurah , is there anyone out there that might share some advice on where to head to get a feed...I was thinking outside the 5 fathom bank but where...i have a 4.7m runabout... I am not after any marks or anything just a rough guide as to what depth and type of bottom to look for..

Cheers.

It's worth having a try for them in the estuary about 50 - 150 metres of the eastern end of the cut. Just keep moving around until you land on them in that general area.
good luck you should be able to get a feed

i have usually looked for sandy holes/breaks in the reef. not familiar with mandurah, but the big ones ive caught have usually been in about 15-20m of water in sandy/broken bottom near reef.

good luck!

they are out there just hard to find. i have had guys say they have tried for years to find a reliable spot for them . bigger ones are as mentioned by MHWOODY around the 27 to 30 mtr mark . however it is around the 8nm out . reports of catches in the cut but the smaller models. however if your after a good feed of sandys there is plenty out there and decent sizes amongst them only about 2nm out from the marina and there is nothing wrong with them for a feed
