Kayak/Canoe Hire
Gday all. Just thought id see if anyone on here has had any recent experience(last couple of years or so) hiring a Kayak or Canoe to go fishing in from a company/person in Perth?
I have searched online and found a few companies that seem to hire them, just wanted to know if anyone on here has done it before and could share who they hired theirs through, what they thought of the whole exercise and if they would recommend.
Just got an invite to go with a mate fishing on Harvey Dam in the future. He has a Hobie Outback, but as yet i dont have my own personnaly freshwater craft :(
Not to bothered paddling one man in a canoe as i take canoeing Outdoor Ed trips sometimes for my job so quiet proficient in canoes. But think i would prefer to hire a Kayak.
Didnt find any, but man it would be great if some of these companies hired out Hobies with the pedal drive :)
Thanks, Buz.

Hired a Gizmo from Finn
Hired a Gizmo from Finn Kayaks at the end of last summer for a weekend, great service and was very happy with the kayak. The lady that helped me wouldnt allow me to have to the kayak sitting diagonally in the car and sticking out the window so she opened a brand new set of roof racks and lent them to me free of charge.
If I was to hire one again I would definitely go back there (definitely won't be hiring one again tho after being dumped by a wave and losing my glasses and then having to load the kayak and drive home in the dark blind by myself, while also having to reel in a 2kg sinker + big bait I'd just dropped 500m out in freezing wet clothes).
Being able to hire a hobie would be great, seriously thinking about investing in one next year but would really prefer to test one first since the pedal placement seems king of awkward.

Thanks for the heads up on
Thanks for the heads up on Finn Kayaks drifta. Didnt actually know they did hire. Might see if they hire out some of their bigger kayaks.
Cheers for the offer Jayden, but i'll say from having used the Gizmo and even Widget before i am looking at using a larger kayak or canoe as i am quiet a weighty fellow at 98kg. Though i know it can take that weight i just prefer something bigger for my mass hahahahahahaha.
On the subject of Hobies for Hire it did get me wondering if one could cover the cost buying a few, i wonder if there would be enough demand from people to hire them over normal Kayaks. From what i have seen there may be a niche for Hire Hobies(pedal driven).

it would be a good career
it would be a good career opertunity but being such a fragile kayak with many parts that break easy and arnt cheap to replace it could become a costly experience
