Jurien winter pelagics

Hey all,
wondering if there is much point trolling this time of year at Jurien bay.
I imagine there may be some small Southern Bluefin Tuna around, would there still be a chance of a Spaniard or Yellowfin?

Low Chance
Always a chance, but pretty low at this time of year. I've picked up pinkys and sambo's trolling outside the reef during winter. You never know your luck.
I'll be up there this weekend, but wife has instructed no boat this time. Family time. Luckily, swells up and a few land accessible surf breaks should be pumping.

hoping to get out the second bank on Sat, can catch your demersal limit pretty quickly out there so wondering what may jump on a lure if I need to fill the rest of the day in.

Yeah, i feel ya. Long way to go for 5 mins of fishing. Used to see a few dolphinfish out that way as late as June hanging under cray floats.
Bit of swell around on Sat. Which way you heading out?

Thanks for the offer, but my
Thanks for the offer, but my leash is real short!
Used to crew and skipper up there, so know the conditions ok. You'll be ok heading north on Saturday - just keep to the leads. Takes a pretty big swell before it starts getting dicey through there. Wouldn't be heading through the south channel markers on Saturday. Breaks between these markers and that's before you even start making your way through middle or south passage. Sunday, swells down but wind up - can't win.
There's a few lumps inside the bay that attract snapper this time of the year. Guys would normally get them fishing at night.

Jurien
Watch the north Tail if the swell is big!
If you go out north passage to 50mt mark I have had sailfish jumping out of the water out there.
