jurien
been up to jurien a few times only fished outside the reefs but we were told anywhere inside the reef area you can get anything from whiting to dhu and pinkies . what we did is go and spoke to sea rescue they pointed us in the right direction their help was good .you dont need to go too far out try around favourite island always shelter whatever the wind as long as it is not too strong

Jack - Jurien
G'day Jack
When you leave the breakwater, there's some 'sticks' out and off to the left, fishing round there is good for decent sized skippy - se caught tons of them there quite a few years back if the 'sticks' are still there.

got a chart?????
Yeh go out through the markers
(North west)and head south.....the back of the reef holds heaps.....five fingers had macs a while back....water temp might still be ok so a troll down is worth it.
There is a wreck 22km north west....look on your chart.
anywhere in the 35m and 50m....there is two banks...maybe 10km apart.....where is Ryan......or go buy some bait from Jurien Sport and Tackle and get the latest info

Yeah, the sticks are still
Yeah, the sticks are still there...they're navigational aids. Keep the first (red) one to your starboard and the second (green) one to your port on the way out. This is known as the South Passage. Watch it if the swell starts getting past 2m or so.
This time of the year, and right throughout winter, there's plenty of big snapper that come into the bay, especially when the swell's up. Sound around for any sort of lumps, many of which are within a km or so of the marina. If you go before end of cray season (30 June) a lot of these lumps will already be identified for you!
Water depth inside the bay is mostly 6-12 metres so anchor up on these lumps and fish unweighted mulies. If it was me, I'd be using large softies as well, like 5" and 6" inch jerk shads and Tsunamis. Oh, and it always helps to berley up!
The weed beds on the north side of Long (Boullanger) Island always hold a feed of squid, and if you troll metals or small bibbed minnows through there you're bound to come across snook/pike/tailor. As mentioned above check with Sea Rescue and also they're a gold mine of info at Jurien Seasports.
There are a lot of other good tinny options up there as well...the sand banks just in front of the marina (about .5 km) are chockers with sand whiting this time of year and lots of big skippy all over the bay where you can find broken/weedy ground. Again, the shop up there can supply you with far more detail. Good luck!
