Mon, 2007-08-06 13:43

Had a look with the sounder on the way out Friday....nothing....maybe a few herring, but there didnt look like much muck was left behind....the whale didnt fall to bits when they lifted it out.....

But to answer your question......there is heaps to catch on softies around Hillarys- Dhuies, snapper, bonito, blackarse, trevors, pike all out there.

HAve only been having luck

Tue, 2007-08-07 07:44

HAve only been having luck right at the point of the south rock wall. As soon as the wind picks up the sweel that runs around both sides of this point stirs things up a bit and produces some fish. Only thing that would work for me was 15 to 25gms snipers and raiders. Just herring some skippy on the bottom and 1 tailor last time i was there but agree with it being alittle quiet.

yeah im thinking of getting a spool of 20lb fluro for the middle weight targets...

Im itching to use my new outfit... c3 6500 on a 5'6 Morrum (yeah ok i sorta copied Adam a little - wasnt going to but the opportunity came up to get a 6500 at a trade for my 7000 which was only getting used on my 10' backbone - 6500 more versatile, can use it on the backbone too - and the morrum was obviously among the rods which i looked at to use with it) running 20lb or 14lb.

Do you twitch/jig the metal slugs on retrieve at all? or do you just cast, sink, flat out retrieve?

Thu, 2007-08-09 09:23

Yeah, I had to choose out of the matte black blank or the metallic purple blank so just to avoid the issue of REALLY being a metrosexual copycat, I went the black :P The guides on the black are different too, a touch better I would have thought.

Spess, yeah sure mate! Ive got used to the quick learning curve there is with you bitches :P If I was a unknown person, you prolly woulda answered that but since I been giving you shit, now I have to bloody pay the price lol

Well maybe stop putting up

Thu, 2007-08-09 10:20

Well maybe stop putting up stupid remarks that stir some of the other memebers up! ive got not dramas with you mate just remember that most of us know each other and your new so when theres alittle cheek going on we work together. No problems mate im more than happy to catch up for a fish sometime. Like to keep the site as friendly as possible and keep the posts to do with what there about and not dribbling shit on them. If anyones chasing a fishing buddie or are keen to catch up for a fish try putting it up under the "fishing buddies" section so it stays there and other members know what everyones on about. Cheers Chris

Chris does have a point though. Nobody minds a joke, just when the same joke/ribbing is spread over 3-4 different threads it gets a little repetitive and boring.

Lets keep the talk fishing related. :) Or, keep it to one thread atleast.

Cheers.
