Hi all, headed down to hillaries marina last night, the water was crystal clear and dead calm (thought it would ne be great for squidding) tried my normal spots that usually produce atleast one. But to my suprise I didnt even see one tentacle friend. Did anyone have any luck last night with the marina so still? And your thoughts on if squid get spooked when the waters clear or calm? Any info would be appreciated. Cheers Eric.

Hillarys
Hows it going fellow fishos,
Just curious on the fishing at Hillarys at the moment, I am wanting to head down there tonight after work, hoping to get down there for an hour or two after 7pm.
What would any of you recommend or suggest trying? Any info would be great, as it would be my first time trying to catch anything in/around the harbour.
I would be happy to target any bread and butter fish for the few hours, just for something to do an realx after a long weekend working.
Look forward to the advise.
Cheers.

I fished there the past two
I fished there the past two Saturday arvo/evenings.
Last weekend got a hepa of little Pinkies, a couple of nice size school whiting and a 32cm Tarwhine. This weekend a heap of small Tarwhine, 1 Whiting and a Cobbler which I released. My mate got smoked by something in the rocks which he called for a Pinky or Tarwhine as pleanty of head shaking.
So there's definitely a few fish in there just berley up and see how you go

Cheers
Thanks for the heads up,
Can you pm me any particular area to fish, I dont expect you to give me your prize spot or anything. Just general location as to get me a small feed.
Also if you can give me a little advise on the type of rig to use or set up. I have not fished much over here, so any advise would be golden.
thanks a million.
Thanks again for the report, nice to know there is something stirrin up and ready to be caught for some fun.

No squid
Went down a couple of nights ago looking for squid, but there was nothing. Week before last there were a few babies around, very shy.
