hi im new to fishing in perth (ocean reef),fish for years in n.z but here im finding it like a pot luck draw the only time i catch some thing is wgen i get up at 4am and go 15,20 nm out and drift fish caught nice duefish bald chin gropper etc surlythese things must live closer to land than this any help would be great.

Granta - try south of river 5 fathom bank i only 6NM out and some nice fish in spots of Rockingham. Went out today and had some fun for only 10L fuel ;-)

Always worth fishing the 3 mile reef, you just really need to spend some time finding some spots and burleying hard. But yes, often found out of Ocean Reef you have to do a fair few miles to get to quality spots unfortunately. :(
