Hey fella's,
Heading down south for the weekend with the missus to do some camping and fishing want to get onto some salmon. First weekend we have had together in about a month so want it to be a cracker!
Dont want to head as far south as Albany we live in Mandurah can anyone suggest somewhere in between that would be nice for us to camp be it beach or park we have rooftop tent and self sufficient? If anyone has a favorite spot worth pitching the tent and throwing some lures i'd be mighty grateful for some info.
Yet to catch a decent sized Salmon so pretty keen!
Cheers i hope you all have a great upcoming weekend!

Hamelin Bay or Conto's if you don't want to go too far.
Hi mate - first post for me, I have been getting much help from this forum and thought i'd better start giving some back.
Hamelin bay caravan park is a good option, there are cabins there as well if you want to get out of the weather. The salmon fishing seems to be best in the mornings in the bay if you can beat the pro's to them. there is a 4wd track just north from there that takes you up to Boranup beach, we caught a few nice fish there last week on sun set.
Conto's is another good option with the rocks there and a nice camp spot if you dont mind roughing it in the weather. Plenty of herring there too last weekend at the spring.
Hope this helps and good luck!

Just back from a shortened
Just back from a shortened weekend due to persisent rain and southerly storms.
Friday afternoon arrived and fished Salmon holes, caught 3 in 2 hours of intermittent showers. had the whole beach to myself bar one.
Saturday morning and the wind had changed washing away the beach with huge rips and waves.

Some people trying to fish but it looked to dangerous.
Went all along the south coast trying to find a fishable spot, but to no avail.
Lots of salmon around the Dunsborough area according to some travelers I met along the way.

My mate was Surfing near
My mate was Surfing near Rocky Point yesterday and had a school of Salmon swim around him and then start busting up a school of Herring. Only the one school for the morning he saw though.

Before this
weeks weather they were pretty thin on the ground along the capes coast but I would expect the back run to start up soon so you just never know.
If you want a guarantee for salmon you'll just have to go the south coast again this year.
Anywhere from yaegarup east should find you fish, weather permitting.

Peaceful Bay
hi mate,
not sure how far south your keen to go, but if you go as far as peaceful bay have a stop over there! also if you get on the beach and head N-E you will come to the Irwin inlet which is a pretty cool place to fish. Ive caught salmon off the beach there and also some nice tailor.

Thanks for all the replies
Thanks for all the replies guys i will check out all your suggested spots on the map with the misso and try and decide on a spot that we are both happy with. This weather is looking nasty and not exactly how i was hoping it would be so it might not even happen, was also keen to try out the rooftop tent for the first time but if its gonna be shit might not be a good idea haha..
Any suggestions on lures these salmon wont be able to resist or should i be looking into baits? Bit clueless when it comes to Salmon :)
Thanks again guys
