Heading to Karratha/Dampier in Nov

Heading to Karratha/Dampier in a couple of weeks just wondering how everyone has been going of late? Looking at chasing some barra/jacks and hopefully get offshore if the weather is good. Will be heading out in the old mans Southwind UB520 (he bought it off fellow fishwrecked member POC). Havent had too much success on the barra as yet, any help appreciated.

DONT COME
Someone has turned the TOASTER ON. Only joking but the heat is rising and as Brad said the barra fishing is heating up. Not that I am any expert in that field.
Offshore a few people have had all sorts of success on the pipeline, perhaps because most ignore this now because its reputation was that it was overfished, much like the inner and outer patch. It mostly depends on the weather (X your fingers) and tides.
Have been out almost every weekend and if its blowing find a lea and still fished. The red fish have been harder to get but then hey, who complains about a feed of snapper, cod etc. Certainly not me because they taste nice and fresh fish is great.
Might see you up here.

Would they mind turning it down
Definately expecting it to be hot. I wouldnt be complaining with a feed of snapper and cod, throw in a barra or 2 and I would be stoked.

Yup the hairdryer is working
Yup the hairdryer is working well of late. The Mackies have been out at Madaline shoals, and so have the sharks. Fished the patch on my tours on the weekend and there was heaps of birds working the water, caught a few small red's but nothing to get excited about. Been fishing some more unlikely spots of late and doing pretty well, decked a few nice coral trout lately as well.

Yeh
Thats why I posted previously that there is no sportfishing up here in water deeper than 15m. Its not sport to let the taxman at em.
So the battlecry is "Make em piss" which I think is Hairy Dogs on the Ord saying, and fight like hell to skull drag them up.
I have found under 15m you can be a little more sporty, but not much or he'll come and collect.
Caught a bloody Charlie Court and wound it in like sh*t, and with the clarity of the water I could clearly see 6-7 suits hot on the poor buggers tail. Was awesome to see but what if it was a bigger fish and I couldn't pull it away from the razors, it would be toast.
Needless to say we moved on.
