Do you get GTs this far south ? Decided to go for a fish over the weekend off 3 mile. Was letting out a live bait when it got smashed by something that looked like a GT just under the boat. Got cut off as it darted under my hull.

Could have been. Although this guy was a bus. Didn't know you get brassys this far south either. Water temp was 21.5 maybe thats got something to do with it.

A mate of a mate (who used to own a charter company and knows a thing or two about fish), swears black and blue that he caught a decent GT metro around 3 weeks back.
Apparently photos exist, I haven't seen them, and until I do I'm skeptical!
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

The southernmost recording
The southernmost recording from Western Australia comes from Rottnest so it's certainly possible. GT's are semi-pelagic but they're mostly demersal in nature so it's unlikely that water temp had anything to do with it.
