Ground within 15km of metro coast

I’ve recently become the proud owner of my first boat - a quintrex renegade 460.  I’m comfortable taking it up to 15km offshore on the right day - which generally puts you in the low 30s in the metro area. My question is whether there is ground that still holds dhus in this sort of depth range.  I spent yesterday morning doing a lot of sounding in 31m about 10km out of mindarie and didn’t find any flares greater than 0.5m.  Is it worth persisting in this sort of territory? I’m running a 1971f and tm66.  Cheers.

I don't fish for dhuies often

I don't fish for dhuies often but I definitely have more success on the extremely flat ground than the obvious big lumps in the 30s

As Beau says the flat coral

As Beau says the flat coral is the best. Caught A good one yesterday on said ground in 39m, vexed meat doing the job again.

 0.5m lump or broken ground

0.5m lump or broken ground of that size is perfect, smaller the better, less chance a muppet that doesn't know how to use a sounder correctly has spotted it.

Mindarie gets quite alot of

Mindarie gets quite alot of pressure, I have not travelled more than 10 mins from the boat ramp over the past 12 months, I fish to conditions, times and tides way more these days and have consistently found better results in close than any of the trips I did farther out but also use vastly different techniques. Ive also found the squid are far more consistent in close these days as well, easily getting half a dozen during the day for fresh bait or livies.

Thanks for the responses everyone.  I’ll keep looking around in those depths.
