Good night out.
Thought I'd just share my experience of a recent fishing trip. I was lucky enough to have a week back in Qld over christmas which gave me the opportunity to catch some more tropical fish. One nice night we planned on heading out to one lump that has a fishing zone of about 50 m and is 10 Nm from anything else. Well known spot but always seems to be holding some fish.
We got out there to find another boat already on the stop, which was not uncommon considering the area. Once we got close enough we had a sound around and pulled up next to the other boat. We both hung around out there for a few hours, swapping stories sharing some bait and even boating a few nice fish (sharks aside).
All in all it was a good night, was able to go out chat to some fellow fishers and catch a few fish. Only thing that could have made it better was a glass out.
Now I haven't been in Perth for long, but hopefully I can have some similar experiences here while leaving all the stress and tension of work behind.
All in all, it is a hobby and not a competition against every other boat out there.

Careful
Hi Mighty Boy, sounds like a great night out in Queensland, and some good company.
Just be careful trying that over in the Wild West, some folks don't talke too kindly to a boat being anywhere near them on the ocean, especially if you have a GPS! If you see me out there, by all means drop by and say hi. Like you, I enjoy the hobby, not the competition. No doubt I would be out fished by 99% of people out there, but reckon I come back smiling even if the esky is empty.
Cheers,
BD.
