Glass Boats

I know ali boats dominate the new trailer boat scene in WA but who do you think makes the best glass boats locally 17-25 foot?

hey mate. 1 went merc 200hp. performance great. top speed 42 knots. fish the fads quite a bit. direction bank in jurien. even done the fads in dunsbourough. handles well in chop. had out in some pretty gnarly conditions and always felt safe. very capable fishing boats. cant compalin about the purchase process, all was explained well. always good to do your own researcha s to what options you want etc, but im very satisfied. yup, wait times are pretty huge. asked about a 23 the other day and think end 2023 is the expected time.

Good to hear, thanks for the
Good to hear, thanks for the info. Sounds like you've made a smart choice with the 200hp. See heaps of overpowered new boats around now that probably never see half throttle offshore.
Nothing beats doing your own research - seems to be lost on a lot of people these days.
All the best, thanks again mate.

Travis Mansfield is a mate
Travis Mansfield is a mate but I don't know anyone personally that doesn't say good things about him. He's an honest guy and his biggest failing is saying yes to everything.

Glass to fragile ,,, it just shatters....oh fibreglass..
Im not sure about the local scene been dominated by ali ,,,,,, a quick look around ramps and places like power boat clubs shows plenty of glassys
If you say regular offshore hardcore boats from 6.5 to 8 m , then ALI is king for sure , but over all im picking a 50/50 mix
I think your bigger more economical 4 bangers have made glass boats like haines , cruisecrafts , coastals ( yank) and carribeans more attractive, combined
with near enough every slightly under powered ute been rated at 3.5 tonne haha ,, which is 2 of the 3 main reasons Ali took the offshore crown
( big boat motor ecomony ,, towing weights,,,,, , and durability )
leisure cat are starting to expand there range, mono and cat , so check them out,,

Yeah I'm talking new trailer
Yeah I'm talking new trailer boats from local builders. I guess it's reflected in the number of options you have to choose from - no shortage of ali boat builders, not many glass builders.
Tow weights are a big deal which makes sense. If you live in WA you want to be able to travel big distances and launch in some ordinary places. Ali is more practical.
Will be interesting to see what direction Leisure Cat take and what is built locally and not in Asia.

For actual WA built glass
For actual WA built glass boats that you can go for a walk through their factories you really only have Tidal, Fury and Northshore.
Everything else mentioned here is eastern states build.
