Was over at Garden Island today squidding and throwing a few s/p's around fishing in 2-3 metre's there is certainly plenty of decent size squid over there and what did suprise me what grabbed the s/p's was large king george whiting didnt matter what sp I used ended up keeping 4 for tea the largest one went 58cm totally blew me away that they were in such shallow water just near the beach,so tonight it whiting and squid with a few beers to wash it down, great conditions out there today

Love the KG
One of the few species I'm looking forward to catching/eating when we move back to the big smoke. Nice work mate.

yeh!
Big KG's for shallow waters. Normally they move deeper when that size....little lost maybe.....sweet reward none the less!

yer, spot on, SP's on KG's is good, I've tried for KG's my self over the past two weekends with NO luck yet.
I've been drifting the weed spots and sand areas using fresh squid caught on the Southern flats for KG's
I'll get some soon, biggest I've caught out there is 48cm
and that was just before the drop off to the mussel farm

Garden and Carnac
Was out there today with the kids. Not the best day to be out but try telling an 11 year old and a 14 year old that it's too rough for Geordies.
We ended up with 4 Geordies up to 40 cm, a heap of skippy, some Tarwhine and about 30 gardies. The kids had a ball.
I'll post some picks soon.
