Not wise to fish soft plastics that far down the river I'm afraid. You will have a very hard time fighting past the blowies & will have them nip off a tail on almost every cast. Hardbodys are the way to go during daylight hours. Soft plastic can be effective at night though once the blowies settle down a little.  I find the most effecient & effective method of using soft plastics down that way during daylight hours is to wade the shallows & sight cast to fish. Mostly your targets would be flathead or whiting.
