Fitting pot tipper

I have a 595 Cruise Craft that I want to prepare for the fitting of a pot tipper.  Before I start cutting holes in the gunwhale, do any other Cruise Craft owners or knowledgable members know if I will need to reinforce the gunwhale at the point where the holes are cut for the vertical rod holders?

Thanks in advance.

I just fitted a pot tipper to

I just fitted a pot tipper to my boat last weekend. I placed a thick  piece of marine ply underneath and bolted the rod holders through.... That works in terms of making the rodholders super ridgid to the gunwale ... but if you're worried about the gunwale itself flexing, surely that wouldn't... ? ... Wouldn't it?
