Fishing spots close to rotto

 Hi guys and girls

 Firstly great forum really helpfull on so many different levels  , we are staying at rotto for a couple of weeks and we are looking to do some fishing a close family friend has a boat but we don't really know any spots we have a terrific whiting spot went out yesterday and got 40 in no time but we wanted to get onto some bigger fish my mother in law wants a dhew fish :-) don't we all I don't mind what we catch But I don't want to waste hours driving around looking for spots as we try to only go out for 3 or 4 hours each morning so we can get home befor lunch to spend time with my young children and family , any help would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance

dont think u will get any gps spots mate, people put in alot and time and effort to find them, your best best is to look at your sounder and put in the hours like everbody esle does, best of luck, i know i will never give out any of my spots and feel most people are the same! good luck in your quest for a dhuie

best bet is to read your gps look for a lump or an edge and sound around till you find something worth while!! good luck

 Hi boys not asking for anyone's secret spots just an idea of what look for like water depth and general direction. as the only fishing I have ever done is in rivers in Victoria and  now from the beach in Wa

so i would be starting in 20 to 30 metres along ledges or close to pro cray pots!
