Fishing Spot (north of kalbarri)
Submitted by poida on Thu, 2007-02-01 19:50
A friend of mine who i fish steep with has heard rumour's of a spot just north of Kalbarri and is thinking of a trip in the next few months. I have heard the rumours myself but neither of us have a clue how to get there. If the moons align i may be able to go also and post up some pics ect. Its meant to be cliff fishing, the bottom of the zuydorp cliffs i presume. The track in is a killer, and there is a 4wd tyre graveyard half way in. You need the land owners permission to go through his land. Thats about all we know and the challenge of the place is probably half the reason we want to give it a go.

fishing spot nth kalbarri
hey adam, sounds like up zypdorf, all the other spots south are beach or platform fishing and easy ridn in 4wd. the only problem up there is that you cant fish the damn place when there is more than 1half swell as up there the swell breaks out from the rocks and rolls in up the cliffs, used to crayfish up there heaps and got pretty hairy even on boat! april we start getting swell up ere and if its 1half here its at least double the size up there! usually best time is flat spells in may-june w the easterlys or later in year towards sept when it gets pretty flat up there, best bet to check swell forcasts and go from there. Now is perfect flat ere. Ill try and find out some more info for yas from some of the cray boys. catch ya tangles

poida - don't go in there
poida - don't go in there without CALM permission mate or you'll have customs/cops/fisheries and everyone else waiting for you on the track out.
call up the calm officer in Gero and ask for a permit to go in there to 'photograph wildflowers' or some crap.
also, i wouldn't bother going there - go to False Entance - heaps better and without the inherant risks.
jmo.
