Fishing real grease

What type of grease can i use in my penn spinning real gears?
I dropped the rod in the water a few weeks ago while bringing in a big mulloway and want to overhaul the reel

Penn have their own reeel
Penn have their own reeel grease. That's what I use on mine.

Thanks mate, next time im in the shop ill get some but do you think i could use wheel bearing grease on the gears until i get the propper stuff?

Fishing reel grease is very fine, I wouldn't use wheel bearing on my reeel.

Got the reel apart yet? If its been a few weeks, the salt may have done its damage...Id use moly grease if u had to use something in the shed, htb can go hard and with salt water

Yeah I have got it apart and cleaned all the old grease off with kero and the anti reverse bearing is soaking in crc,
i have some lithium grease and some mollycoat 55 o-ring grease that is quite thin so that might do the trick

Oooow, anti reverse bearing,
Oooow, anti reverse bearing, just oil it. I use diawas and when I got tempted to add a bit more oil to the anti reverse the failed (wound backwards) a few times, I leave um but if it got dunked....bit of oil I think
