Fishing with my oldest son
My oldest boy Jarrad is down from Geraldton at the moment and had some free time yesterday so we headed out in my little boat to chase some KGW. I took him to a spot I have that produces consistantly from September through to about March. I have been fishing this spot on and off for over 40 years, initially with dad when I was a little tackler.
We got to the spot about 9am and started drifting with 2 hookpaternoster rigs and strips off squid. It wasnt long into the drift when Jarrad boated a mid 30s kgw and from then on it was pretty constant action with 3 hours of fishing producing 19 keepers from 32 to 40cm with quite a few fish from 28 to 32 cm thrown back.
Was heaps of fun especially as I only get to fish with him once or twice a year due to both our work commitments.
