Fishing at Hillaries

Hey there. Was wondering if anyone could share any spots to fish at Hillaries. I'll be having my school ball there in April, Me and a couple of the guys would love to chill out after it and pull an all-nighter. We have never fished at Hillaries. A jetty would be good too! So that we wont get our gear damaged by the sand.

If you are going to do an allnighter it is likely that there
will be a southerly type wind blowing so the best option would be the area near the Disabled fishing ramp on the north wall, or the area near the lighthouse on the same rock wall. However, if it happens to be blowing an easterly I would seriously have a look at the area in front of Boy in a Boat reef on the main rock wall.
I would take a range of rigs. There are always plenty of herring there at night, and a few good tailor. Night time is also good for squid. I would take some heavier rigs along too as there are lots of stingrays around and occassionally some smallish sharks.
If you can make sure you are awake at sunrise, you will have a really good chance of getting some good sized skippy, some tarwhine and possibly some small pinkies near the lighthouse.
Use mulies cut in half on small gangs or single hooks.
PS Watch out for the hundreds of feral cats that live there and love to steal your bait.
