12 ft rod.Any suggestions

Hi all i am thinking about updating my 11 year old 7144 beach rod to something abit newer.I have had a look at the Shimano Tiralejo and a Daiwa Sensor surf,i am leaning towards the Tiralejo as it is a bit heavier.Just wondering if any one has used one of these lately or if you have any other suggestions i would like to hear them.

I've recently been using
I've recently been using Rovex Bario 11 footers. They're carbon compo rods so are fairly light in weight but big in power. They also come in 10 & 12 foot. Bought 1 for my bro the other day too... caught his first mulla on it...
Good thing bout this rod is: $120 bucks a piece. Can't really go wrong. Worth checking out!

Check out the xzoga mastery
very nice rod with the skinny grip also. Haven't bent my 10 footer with anything of note, but the rod is magnificent to cast with.

depends what you want it for
depends what you want it for catching, what kind of rids you'd be using, spinning mulies, overhead, alvey, spin, what type of locations you'd be using it in... Budget doesnt seem to be a huge factor seeing the rods you're considering.

Tackle Shack and Oceanside stock the xzoga, I guess it depends on where you live as to where you go. And dont quote me but I think they both stock Rovex also.

tiralejo i think maybe a lil
tiralejo i think maybe a lil heavy action for mulie spinning. I reckon daiwa emblem pro would be a good rod. Its light, 30-40lb, very sensitive and good response, have adjustable counterweights in the butt to balance your reel, and is a sexy lookin stick. And still has flick to throw out mulies without destroying them before it hits the water.

i use a gary howard built mt 8144
very light but very strong use it for fishing north mole of the rocks , has a very nice action and has landed some monster rays , it cast mulies and poppers a mile

Rovex 12Ft
I recently bought a Rovex and it seems a great Rod.
Casts well and handles a load well.

sensor surf
ive got the 13 ft sensor surf 3-6oz. its a great rod for beach and rocks but it fairly stiff so it doesnt have the flick that the 2-4 oz 12 ft would for unweighted mulies. fantastic rod (caught me my first north mole snapper) and i would never part with mine but i mainly use it for big bottom rigs for mulloway and snapper.

The Daiwa Heartlands are a very nice 12 foot rod
They cast a mile and have the strength to handle big fish.

Ask Colin 1st about his Diawa Moonraker
I think you might have to consider that in the equation. Lighter than the Shimano. I dont know about the others but Colin Hay raves about his Moonraker.

closer to 14 foot for the shortest model Neels.

Mate I am thinking of upgrading to the 16 foot model
I will bring it with me if I get up your way. With the right wind I would be able to cast a bait out to Sam's Island.

Might attach a hook to the end and use it as the "Boat Rod". Graphite is tough isnt it?????? LOL
As for Popping, anything is worth a go IMO. I am not sure if it will handle the large poppers Jay uses though.

Mate I have been using a 12ft, 1 piece OZFLEX with a trusty PENN 850ss
extremely happy with this combo for both beach & rocks. Lots to choose from, would be good to have em all. Good luck & Good fishn.
