Submitted by glass half full on Mon, 2012-06-18 12:40
Hi all, I am heading to Green Head for a week in July, havent fished there before. Will be taking my boat (5.8m). Does anybody have any thoughts on where to fish up there, areas, depths, etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Fish the drop ofs good dhuies
Fish the drop ofs good dhuies and baldys. also worth doing a troll jsut behind reef in 15-20m water for macks. and then also bottom bouncing out in 30-40ish looking for structure. you might also see bait balls so have a rod ready for them they some times pop up out of no where haha

Havn't fished in Greenhead
Havn't fished in Greenhead for a few years now but used to do well in the 30 to 40m range, used to pick up quite a few dhuies and baldys even when it looked very flat ordinary ground on the sounder, lot of hard limestone bottom with a lot of holes that the fish sit in. Its even worthwhile just heading a few kms up the road to Leeman and heading out from there, there is a lot of good ground to the North of Leeman. If you can launch your boat from the beach Gumtree Bay is a good spot to leave from to head out to the Beagle Islands, just be wary if the swell is cranking out at the beagles though.
Good luck I hope you do well some great fish to be caught up that way.
