anyone fished in egypt ill be leaving for there in 2 1/2 months doing 10 week stints so hopefuly find time to wet a line in the red sea

you should go to lake nassar and chase the nile perch (massive version of a barra) I would love to go there

Haven't fished there but if you get the chance I'd highly recommend making a stop at Dahab. Some of the most amazing snorkelling I've ever done and it is literally right in front of you when you get in the water. Much cheaper and less touristy then Sharm el Sheikh. And the seafood is so god damn good!!!!

A mate of mine just got back
from a charter in lake Nassar, said it was the best thing he has ever done. Biggest Nile Pearch caught went 57LB or something stupid. I can find out the charter operator if you like.

The African Angler
is the name of the charter company. You can find them on broker sites such as

but you are best to contact them direct. I recon you would get an even better deal booking in Egypt when you get there.
byrnedog is right a Dahab trip is a must for sure.
Eygpt is by far the best and worst place i have travelled to - you will see what i mean.

Not sure about fishing, but remember to take ear plugs, for two reasons. Morning call to prayer from the mosques at 5am (or some early hour of the morning), and the Egyptians love using the horn on their cars (they're also CRAZY drivers)!!! Egypt is a great place, so i'm sure you'll have a heap of fun!
