Hi,
Just wanted to know if somebody would be able to point in the right direction for dropping cray pots this season and what the best bait would be as well.

Fish heads are the way to go
Fish heads are the way to go for bait.
go to your local fish monger and you can usually get them cheep.
As for placement, for the whites run you want to be dropping them on sand patches near reef.

Drop them in december, on any sand patches amongst reef, blue mackeral goes well and keep well clear of other peoples pots or you may find your floats have disappeared one morning.

Make sure you get an early start the day you pull them otherwise the low life scum out there will pull them for you and all you find is empty pots as I found out many times, I caught two blokes once in an unmarked tinny behind Carnac!! Not happy Jan

Load Ur pots with ballast.
Load Ur pots with ballast. Solves a lot of problems, both for catching crays and stopping people pulling them. Whites are on SAnd, reds later on the reef. Don't be afraid to buck the trends for the so called 'best moon', as we have cleaned up on the 'wrong moon phase'.
Cheers,
Rick
