Favourite terminal tackle!

so far ive found most terminal tackle to be of pretty bad quality. hooks are fine (gamakatsu) but as far as swivels go pretty unhappy. Can anyone recommend good quality swivels that last more than a few outings:

Three way,

Crossline,

Swivel//snap swivel,

Go!

AFW swivels are by far the best, without going to a ballbearing swivel.

Although owner has never failed me, decoy seems to be a better for the size and quality

I've read that bearing swivels are the only ones that will still turn under large loads?

Yer but think about it. Under a heavy load usually means you are connected to a fish and how much do you think the fish will be spiraling through the water? Ball bearing overated imo. Afw stainless swivels all the way, but i dont use snaps very often but afw stainless snaps are available but are very expensive.

Owner are the only ones (swivels)  that have held up every time for me. I have tried many other top brands but they still fail and brake well bellow what they are rated for.

Gamakatsu hooks are just as good as Owner but half the price if you buy bulk packs IMO .

Got onto those Hawaii snaps

Sun, 2012-11-11 21:29

Got onto those Hawaii snaps years ago ,promised to be the new best thing, only to find out first time used ( in a fishing comp ) they let me down. Fish was a leaping mako shark . Wound in leader with swivel still attached but shark trace had worked its way off clip. Never used again!

hawiian snaps = never again,

Sun, 2012-11-11 21:43

hawiian snaps = never again, lost an expensive lure on them first cast, just slipped straight off. ricter snaps are wicked, bought a pack last year and still using them, not a single spot of rust and still tight!!

gamakatsu are my favourite hooks, although i use owners for jigging as they are better quality, but theyre just too damn expensive once you start loosing a few on bottom rigs.

All snaps are a liability in your tackle. Even fishing ultra light I have had 40kg snaps come in straightened on fast fish such as spanish mackeral.
