Exmouth in late September

Gday guys
Im looking at taking a 6m boat and the family to Exmouth in late september. We have been down that way a few times but not at that time of year. Just wanted to see if anyone thinks it's worth towing a boat all the way there or is the weather not going to be too friendly for boating. Any feedback or advice would be great.
Cheers

Wind
September is usually the time of the southerly equinoxial gales to blow which means alot of wind. Can always find something to do but the west side out wide may be a challenge. Always a bit of pot luck in exy with the wind. Also had some glass offs in September.

How small are the kids
Used to get great whiting off Learmonth jetty, squid as well and float a bait out wide as a small Spaniard is always a possibility. Or if the kids old enough to surf cast .....just on the south side of the point.....late evenings best on a rising tide, queen it's, cobia and spanglies all possible. look for gaps in the submerged rocks for the best spots
