DIABLO SNIPER 12000/10000

Just curious if anyone has had much to do with these reels?. Heard good things from others. Great warranty and service. Seems to be great quality for a reasonable price $200.

A few threads on here that should tell you what you need to know.

Do these others by any chance tell you of the 28kg+ dhuie they got last week, a sailfish they caught out of albany or how they were catching big red emps in the creeks?

Wow I cant believe this crap just goes on and on, people post and ask if the product is any good and some people reply with good reports only to be bombarded with negative reports from people from what I have worked out from previous posts have never used the gear.  hlokk has the guy that makes these reels had a relationship with your wife or something, the amount of posts you have had and the length of these posts with regard to these reels indicates you truly have a problem with this product and from what I can gather you have never owned one.  The bottom line is if people are happy with the reels let it be, move on mate go fishing do something other than rant and rave everytime there is a post about this product. I was unaware about the history of these reels and brought them on a recomendation from a crew I met up NW of WA last year, It is only after having the reels I have heard about the so called dramas, I could not be happier with the three reels I have. And before you reply I know you were on a charter and personly saw three handles break we have heard the story.

Funny how its only ever the

Funny how its only ever the users with a few posts who signed up recently that ever have anything nice to say about them. I like the quip about how it must be personal instead of it being the simpler explanation of them just being crap reels. Perhaps rather than having someone slept with my wife I would liken it to warning someone that his 'stunning' bride to be is actually a ladyboy with VD. I just think that people should know the facts, rather than the outright blatant lies and contradictatory claims by the company. If you're happy with it, then great, if other people are happy with it then great. However, I dont want people thinking they're spending their hard earnt on a reel claimed to be a stella/saltiga equivalent thats just going to have lumpy drag, snap off handles, corrode, and ultimately be denied service that was claimed (and as a bonus, have the owner have a go at you). A lot of people than believe the claims will be sorely upset if they find out it doesnt live up to claims of quality, strength or aftersales support. Maybe they'll be lucky and wont have problems. If they read all the info and still want to take the chance then I wont stop them, but I would prefer to them to be able to make an informed choice.

For the record, I've been on mulitple charters where they've failed, not one. I've seen a whole drawer full of broken reels (That was a minimum of 10 btw), not 3. I've seen multiple break. I've used them. Thats why I wont own one. Does one owned reel count more than 15+ ones? How hard are the owned reels used? Say there was a car that 75% of engines exploded within 3 years, but you owned one that hadnt exploded, would you still say they are good cars. Even a box of rotten apples may have a few ok ones. Doesnt mean the box of apples isnt crap just because some arent crap. Statistics 101. Also, isnt it funny that you claim I go on about it, but 99% of my posts are about other topics, yet 100% of yours are about one reel?

I think they are a good reel

Fri, 2012-01-13 10:24

I think they are a good reel for $200 but it depends on what you would use it for

Would I jig with a $200 reel? - No

Would I fish for GT's or marlin with a $200 reel? - No  (certainly not by intention).

Cheers

Thanks for the tips gents.

Thanks for the tips gents. Didnt mean to open some old wounds.

I do appreciate the advice for the very reason hlokk states. I dont want to part with my hard earned for something that may break and lose me the fish of a lifetime. I saw these advertised and thought hey if they were just new on the market and their claims were right why not go for something a fraction of the price.

While some people have their restraints on a budget it may be just what they are looking for. Fortunately i can afford to spend a little extra so i guess i'll be looking at a Stella/Saltiga.

Im new to fishing in the south-west and have recently bought myself a 6m boat that im keen to get out and learn some serious jigging on. So any advice i can get at the moment will help.

The weather looks awesome this weekend so hopefully i can get my first Dhuie or Pink snapper. Or better still jig for and catch my first Sambo or YTK.

Happy hunting boys.

Cheers again.

I simply have one staement and thats all

You do get what you pay for. Now reel wise a Simano fan (rods I lean towards Diawa and others above Shim, but thats just my opinion, Okumas excluded as is ACT- dont like them)). A Stella/doggie is the tops, Van Staal I rate but havent got one, and they dont have the GT/jigging bigun. Then it goes down, but I can say I would trust a Speros more than the aboe name unmentioned produt, and there is heaps of choice inbetween.

Now why dont we just drop this sbject as it has been hammered and get back to fishing.
