salmon
I saw a school of Salmon off the Silver Sands beach yesterday & the day before. All around 2 kg I reckon. Went back down with a rod but missed them both times. Regular Australian Salmon of course - not threadfin.

Fishing the cut
I have fished the cut the last two weekends and alot of last week see. A fair few schools of salmon swimming up and down the first groin near Avalon I have had a few big skippy and theres some monster buff bream hanging around there . The salmon ignored every bait we through at them and were not interested in the lures not to mention the other thirty people doing the same thing. C.p what time did u see the salmon at silver sands and how far off I have been keeping a eye Out along my local beach in mandurah . The salmon are definetly around we just got to catch them . I keep being told just to persist down the cut and they are landing them there but I haven't seen any . Any one got any hot spots or tips for catching these salmon and as for the long Tom there was a huge caught at point peron

Salmon
Around 4.00 pm but from past experience they come & go all afternoon when they're around. I'm pretty sure the dolphins herd them in. They are usually right in close but you need to see the schools & cast into them or you'll be waiting all day.

I also had an unusual catch
I also had an unusual catch at Yanchep Lagoon a few weeks back and after some investigating I can confirm it was a
juvenile Threadfin. Obviously there has to be breeding stock down this far to be seeing the little critters.
Who knows? Maybe Barra in the Moore river down the track is not that far fetched.
