crabbing at the moment

 Hi all

We have our brother over from the eastern states and he is keen on a family crabbing trip like old times.  Where would we be best to take him? Mandurah or Swan River?  Either scooping or in the tinny? Thanks

there are loads around

there are loads around Mandurah at the moment, good sizes too, we scooped the other day and got a good feed.

If you want to try the river, the jetty in Claremont is a good spot- at the end of jetty road, off of Bayview tce...but get there early to get a spot. Can also chuck a line in there for mulloway and try for flathead with some lures.

good luck

Thanks for the reply. Sounds like Mandurah might be good then. Will be good fun & no doubt a bit cooler down there, even if we dont get a good feed.

 We launched from the ramp

We launched from the ramp behind the Novara shop in Erskine yesterday.  Took about 2.5 hours to bag out with 20.

Lots of small ones and just undersized.

Just headed east into 1.5m of water chicken wings and tuna heads for bait.

Had to throw 3 sized ones back as we recoverd the nets.

Lots of boats out there and lots of nets in the water but a lot of them were feeding crabs with a long time between pulls.
