Coral Bay Fishing Charters

Hi Guys,

I'm heading up to Coral Bay with the family in a couple of weeks time and have decided against towing my own boat up. I want to go out on a charter boat for a day trip and have seen that there is 2 companys that operate from there, Sea Force and Mahi Mahi 2. I just have to choose one!

Before I part with my hard-earned, I'd like to know if anybody has had any experience with either of the two. Hopefully someone can tell me they are both awesome.

Cheers

Isn't Montebello Sport

Isn't Montebello Sport Fishing Charters the same company as Coral Bay Ocean Game Fishing Charters? Their boat is Mahi Mahi 2 and a site sponsor. I've heard nothing but good reports about Mahi Mahi and Captain Bernie.

sea force

sea force is heaps better.
im really good mates with sam and dane and the rest of the SF crew....

agree bernie's boat is good with results, as is sea force....admittedly bernie is a sponsor of the site, but in terms of a fun and enjoyable day out on the water, Sea Force is wayyyyyy better. heaps more cruisy atmosphere.....i mean even one of the Mahi Mahi deckies reckons SF is more cruisy....

when i weas just up there, both boats were doing equally as good in terms of reds, goldies, cod and all other species which go along with....

Bernie is the main man, give him a ring and make sure you let them know you are from fishwrecked.

Oh,  and we operate day and group charters out of Coral Bay during April thru to mid October, before going up to Exmouth and operating 6 day live aboard charters to the Montebellos until we come back to the Bay for a month over xmas,  then back to Exmouth for a few more Monties trips and GAMEX.  Hence the two logos on the site as sponsors.

50/50 mate

draw a straw mate, both head out to the 100m ground where you catch your goldband in numbers which the punters love, both catch the reds which are a prized fish, mahi mahi have the experiance in the pelagics sector and give a shot if the punters are keen and usually produce the goods, just remember not everyone gets a chance at this style of fishing but just as fun to watch, at the end of the day both are as good as each other

Sorted

Tue, 2011-08-02 21:01

Looks like you are sorted freoboy, for my money, Mahi Mahi 2. Take one look at a days catch from that boat and you will not tow your boat up again. There was an interesteing post a few months back from a few FW boys who hired the boat for quite a few days for themselves. They had a very impressive trip. Bernie, Sandra and crew are there so you can catch fish. Results speek for themselves. I am trying to work on a Montes trip next year on Mahi Mahi 2. Just hard to find that spare week. Have a great time in coral Bay and say hi to those horse spangles in the marine park for me.

Yeh, looking forward to it.

Yeh, looking forward to it. Its pretty much all sorted, will receive confirmation from Sandra tomorrow.

I looked at towing my 19 footer up there but we are only going for a few days and when I crunched the numbers I realised it's probably not worth the hassle. Also needed to consider the chance of crappy weather which wont be so much of a problem in a 55 footer!!

Regarding the Monte's, I was up there for a week in June last year on the 'Kylin', OMG what an awesome trip! Cant wait to go back!!

I will say g'day to the spanglies for ya. I've heard so much about em!

Cheers

Max
