Hi wondering if anyone has had any experences with the coleman hot water unit.

What do you think are the pros and cons of the unit and is it worth the money.

cheers

get a 20lt drum and a $30 12v shower. con, need fire or gas cooker. pros, cheap,  it dosent waste space as you use it when you head out for your washing up water and you can put it in a bin on your way home!

i have a coleman hot water on demand unit we have had it for 3 years now and its great the misses wouldnt go anywhere without it and i must admit i do love a hot shower after a days fishing. we took it away for a month holiday and used it on a 9kg gas bottle and it still had plenty of gas in it when we got home.

and its no bigger then a carton of beer so doesnt take up much room.

cheers

have had mine for 5 years and only thing that failed was the pump whish was only just recently.mainly use it for shower at shack at wedge which is anywhere from lond weekend up to 2 weeks ova xmas and eaSTER.a bit bulky for weekend and overnite trips but for extended camping trips based at the one spot its worth it if water supply isnt an issue

I bought mine late last year

I bought mine late last year and used it on a 2 week camping trip at Walpole. Worked a treat. Bathed the kids every night with nice warm water, made cups of tea with it etc. My mate kept coming over to borrow hot water all the time.

I used the disposable bottles of gas while down there but it was getting a little expensive as i was using one every couple of days. I have since bought the adapter to run on a 9kg gas bottle which should work out heaps cheaper. The disposable bottles would be fine for short trips.

What i have done though is buy some brass adaptors for the gas bottle so i can use my stove or other gas appliances while using the hot water.

Its a bit of an investment but its worth it to have a little comfort especially if you go down south as its nice to have a ready supply of warm water when its a bit chilly.

Cheers
