Challenge - who can catch the biggest fish on one of these

A mate emailed me this ridiculous bloody thing.

http://www.catchoftheday.com.au/smallfish_info.php?products_id=48108

I cant believe they are being serious!

I'm tempted to buy one for a laugh and go do a jigging charter with Whitey using it or something

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Yanks will try anything.

Thats some strange looking centreline reel I think. At $US39 might be worth throwing in the truck for those times when its fishy and you didnt bring the gear. Hezza and whiting, I doubt it very much that it would survive a Bass Attack in the US. Bring on a Key West Tarpon!!

Looks sounds and operates like a bloody rifle.

Would be interesting to see what it could capture.

I had one of those once. It was great for taking across to Rotto and catching a feed of herring off the jetty - until it randomly snapped under the strain of a 200g herring.

But there is more... Surely????

You only got one rod? I would have expected at least 2 for the price of one and a tackle box filled with accessories. Were you caller 51 out of the first fifty? talk about bad luck .

Or have one of those Pilbara jobs that pay you way to much. Im just laughing at the thought of that vs a Goldspot, Golden or other trev. Should be a laugh. Sort of remind me off the sabiki rod I bought to catch livies. Great idea, ball sinker on the bottom, and it winds the whole 3 hook sabiki rig into its hollow centre.

Was pretty good for livies, but once a trevor ate one of the livies on the way up, the whole thing collapsed into a heap of broken splinters, AND the little sabiki rig didnt snap. I am sure you could try this as the life bait rig, as for the rest???. I would save 20 off those and get a Stella, 30 and Stella and great rod!!!

Keeps us upgated on the Survival process off the rig

Good luck with the "lethal weapon".

Would be good to to see a parody of that ad - hype it all up, drop a line into a pile of shallow sambos then replay the break carnage over and over again.

What happened to the travelling lure???

Fri, 2012-06-22 09:02

Some time ago we had a twisty that was? passed on between fisho's on here. Catch a fish and pass it on. If it was lost you had to replace it. See what fish was caught on the Traveller.

Maybe we can do the Travelling Travel rod. See how long it survives.
